Dr. Alaina Goesling, ND, LAc
Dr. Alaina Goesling is a dedicated and compassionate healthcare professional, holding licenses as both a Naturopathic Physician and Acupuncturist in Oregon and Washington and specializes in naturopathic gastroenterology. She is passionate about gut health and believes many GI conditions can be treated by using evidence-based alternative treatments.
A proud alumna of Bastyr University in Seattle, WA, Dr. Goesling’s educational journey has equipped her with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in her field. She completed a comprehensive two-year residency program under the guidance of Dr. Ilana Gurevich through the National University of Natural Medicine at Kwan Yin Healing Arts, training in primary care and specializing in naturopathic gastroenterology. Building on this solid foundation, she has now established herself as an associate of Dr. Gurevich, accepting new patients in Oregon and Washington for her thriving telemedicine practice.
Her clinical interests span a wide spectrum, with particular emphasis on gastrointestinal conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), diarrhea, constipation, bloating, gas, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), intestinal fungal overgrowth, Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, microscopic colitis, GERD and abdominal pain. Beyond her specialization in GI conditions, she has an interest in integrative dermatology, thyroid and endocrine disorders, hormone regulation, women’s health, and mental health. Driven by the belief that the key to overall health lies in the gut, she tailors her treatments to focus on restoring and maintaining gut health understanding its crucial role in the overall well-being of an individual. Incorporating a holistic approach, she seamlessly integrates functional medicine, nutrition, nutrient therapy, lifestyle counseling, western herbal medicine, microbiome testing, and conventional medicine modalities, ensuring that each patient receives comprehensive and evidence-based care.
Dr. Goesling firmly believes in a patient-centered approach to healthcare, emphasizing individualized treatment plans, patient education, shared decision-making, and the establishment of a strong therapeutic alliance with her patients. Her compassionate and empathetic nature shines through in her practice, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for those in her care.
Before delving into her graduate studies, Dr. Goesling pursued her passion for the sciences, completing her undergraduate studies in Biology at the University of Washington in Seattle. She gained invaluable research experience through her work in various laboratories, including the UW Department of Neurological Surgery, Genome Sciences, and the Seattle Children’s Hospital Department of Cardiology.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Goesling enjoys a rich and vibrant personal life. She finds creative expression through painting, stays active with sports like volleyball and tennis, embraces outdoor adventures through boating, hiking, and skiing, and shares her life with her beloved 110lb Alaskan Malamute, Queen.
