Dr. Brittany Long, ND

Dr. Brittany Long is a naturopathic physician and alumna of the National University of Natural Medicine. Dr. Long completed a 2-year residency and is experienced in promoting body positivity and healthy weight management while addressing health conditions such as endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal complaints, sleep disturbances, diabetes, high blood pressure and skin conditions. Dr. Long specializes in preventative care, chronic pain management, and sports medicine, including rehabilitation, injury prevention, strengthening and personalized nutrition and exercise plans.
Dr. Long approaches each interaction with an open mind and open ears to best understand where each individual is at on their journey towards their unique health goals. Dr. Long works with her patients to help them achieve these goals through individualized herbal therapy, nutrition, physical manipulation, Pelvic Floor Therapy, manual abdominal therapy, exercise plans, hydrotherapy and pharmacotherapy when appropriate. Dr. Long works hard to establish a meaningful relationship with each patient in order to facilitate the most impactful health outcomes.
Dr. Long has a special interest in helping all levels of athletes achieve the performance goals they have or would like to explore. This special interest and education in athletic-related health stems from 15 plus years of experience in sports and sports related medicine. Dr. Long was a multi-sport athlete in high school and competed competitively in basketball, swimming, cross-country running, track and field, volleyball and Nordic cross-country skiing. After high school Dr. Long competed at the Division 1 level of collegiate athletics in cross-country and track and field, specializing in the 3000-meter steeplechase race.
As an active member of the local running community, Dr. Long worked throughout medical school to foster her knowledge of sports medicine by working with local runners at Portland Running Company and coaching high school cross-country and track and field. Dr. Long is currently coaching at Lake Oswego High School and continuing her training. She recently qualified and competed in the Boston Marathon, qualified for the New York Marathon and was top 10 in her age group for the 2014 Portland Marathon. When she’s not running, working or coaching, Dr. Long will often be found in her kitchen experimenting with recipes, crafting with her husband or enjoying some time with friends and family.
