Kara Giaier, DC

Dr. Kara Giaier is a licensed chiropractic physician and a certified yoga teacher. She graduated from Western States Chiropractic College in 2010 and has been practicing in Portland ever since.
Kara believes deeply in chiropractic being a collaborative, interactive approach to health. She recognizes that each patient is unique and complex and requires an approach that is completely his or her own.
Kara uses hands on alignment work ranging from the standard chiropractic adjustment to low force techniques, deep tissue release, lifestyle coaching, and yoga movement therapy to unveil deep-rooted patterns that can lead to dysfunction. She works to helps patients connect with their bodies, while regaining the trust and confidence to take control of their health.
Kara completed her yoga teacher training at YoYo Yogi in NW Portland under the guidance of Terri and Alex Cole. She continues to be very active in the yoga community and passionate about both practicing and teaching. She also completed a clinical herbalism training through Elderberry School in 2013. Although primarily a personal practice, the training instilled a deep appreciation for herbal medicine and how it can compliment the physical medicine of chiropractic.
Kara grew up competitively swimming all the way through college which taught her the value of discipline and dedication. Nowadays she is an energetic ultimate frisbee player, reflective yogi, spicy home cook, persistent rock climber, meditative knitter, flailing skate skier, and nurturing momma to her kitten. She is forever grateful to chiropractic for helping her create a vibrant and healthy life.
