Moon-Yun Chang, L.Ac.
Hello! My name is Moon-Yun, or Moon for short, and I am a practitioner of Worsley Five Element Acupuncture. The 5 elements are—Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water—and when there’s disharmony in these elements, it will manifest as energetic blocks and/or as symptoms/disease. And it is my aim to bring harmony within your own ecosystem and I am committed to helping you on your individual health journey, acting as a guide on your path to total wellness.
I was born and raised as a child in Seoul, South Korea, and grew up in New York City. At 19 I suffered a back injury and it was my mother’s acupuncturist who successfully treated the pain. It was this experience that opened my eyes to the powerful and beautiful practice of acupuncture.
Originally, I studied art history and photography and went on to work as a professional creative and designer. In 2001, I began to find my way to the healing arts, studying massage in Kathmandu, Nepal and at the Brenneke School of Massage in Seattle, Washington. Soon after, I discovered five-element acupuncture and knew immediately that this modality would be my true path because of its essential connection to the natural world and its roots in Taoism, which speaks to the qi, or creative life force of everything around and inside of each of us.
I proudly bring my lived experiences as both an Asian immigrant and an artist to my healing practice. It is through these lenses that I am able to offer deep creative insight into your healing—whether you are addressing specific health issues or seeking mind/body/spirit balance. I am honored to have you in my space, and look forward to helping you fulfill your own holistic sense of wellbeing.
